Biography

Monetrey is a Cambodian singer and songwriter designated to represent Cambodia at the Eurovision Asia Song Contest 2026. He is recognized for becoming the first-ever Cambodian representative in the history of the contest.

Career and beginnings:Monetrey began building a prominent presence in Cambodia's music scene through his involvement with urban collectives such as La Cima Cartel and the local +855 musical movement. Known for blending modern urban pop and emotive soundscapes in both Khmer and English, he has released popular tracks including "Love and Sunshine," "Far," and "Saturday Night". His digital releases and collaborations have garnered millions of views across platforms, establishing him as a key voice among Cambodia's younger generation of artists.

National Selection: Cambodia's Finest Voice:On October 17, 2026, Cambodian broadcaster TV5 organized Cambodia's Finest Voice at the AEON Mall Sen Sok Event Hall in Phnom Penh to select the nation's representative.Monetrey emerged as the winner, taking first place with his self-composed song "I Let You Go" and prevailing over six other competing acts (including runner-up Nov Dana and KESORRR) by securing the top combined vote from the national jury, the local public, and international viewers.

Eurovision Asia 2026 Journey:With his selection, Monetrey completed the 11-country lineup for the inaugural edition of the contest. His entry "I Let You Go"—a heartfelt ballad exploring themes of heartbreak and personal departure—will represent Cambodia on the international stage. He will perform in the grand final on November 14, 2026, at the One Bangkok Forum in Thailand.
