Pratik Himal Rai (also known as Pratik M Rai) is a Nepali singer, songwriter, and musician designated to represent Nepal at the Eurovision Asia Song Contest 2026. He is recognized for becoming the first-ever representative for Nepal in the history of the contest.

Career and musical background:Holding a Bachelor's degree in music, Pratik Himal Rai has spent over a decade developing his artistic identity in Nepal's music scene. Known for his vocal expressiveness and versatility, his style seamlessly blends slow rock, ballads, folk-pop, and traditional Nepali musical heritage with modern production. Over the years, he has released several original compositions that highlight his passion for storytelling and authentic Nepali sounds.

National Selection: Nepal Decides:On October 7, 2026, Nepali broadcaster Himalaya TV aired the live grand final of Nepal Decides, the official national selection event to choose the country's representative.Pratik Himal Rai emerged as the winner, taking first place with his song "Ananta Maya" and prevailing over ten other competing acts (including runners-up Allam Aadesh and Bullet Flo x Preeti Kaur) by securing top support across a combined vote of the professional jury, the domestic public, and international viewers.

Eurovision Asia 2026 Journey:His entry, "Ananta Maya"—a soulful and poetic ballad exploring deep emotional bonds and endless love—marks Nepal's debut on the continental stage. Pratik Himal Rai will perform the song in the grand final on November 14, 2026, at the One Bangkok Forum in Thailand.
