Alec

Biography

Alec Burette was born in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southeastern France. Growing up in an environment where the arts played a significant role sparked his musical curiosity at an early age. He began playing the piano at five and added the guitar to his repertoire at seven, demonstrating a natural ear for melodic accompaniment. Interestingly, although instrumental music was a part of his life from childhood, he did not begin formal vocal training until September 2025.

Throughout his artistic development, Alec has combined singing with keyboard proficiency, performing songs by pop icons and French chanson artists such as Céline Dion, Francis Cabrel, Charles Aznavour, and Zaho de Sagazan. His participation in local competitions began to pay off when he won the regional Les Étoiles du Léman contest and received an award at Voice Only Kids. Subsequently, he gained experience auditioning for The Voice Kids in Lyon and appeared on French public television programs, including the Christmas special N'oubliez pas les enfants.

Off-stage and outside the studio, Alec attends secondary school and leads a life deeply connected to his everyday passions. He spends hours creating music at home—experimenting with piano arrangements—while also enjoying outdoor activities with friends, photography, and cinema. Those around him highlight his empathy, thoughtful nature, and concern for his classmates' well-being—qualities that have directly influenced his choice of songs.

Professionally, the young artist has expressed a desire to delve into composing and producing his own material in the future. His breakthrough onto the international stage came in June 2026, when the public broadcaster France Télévisions officially announced his internal selection during the massive Fête de la Musique concert at the Théâtre Antique d'Orange.

To represent his country at the 24th Junior Eurovision Song Contest, taking place on October 24 in Ta' Qali (Malta), Alec will perform the song "Comment tu vas?" (How Are You?). Composed by Alec himself alongside his team, the track is an upbeat pop song that puts the piano center stage. The lyrics address the importance of empathy, mental health awareness, and the need to reach out to those in need, offering a message of mutual support for younger generations.
