Biography
Salvador Rio was born in Portugal into a family that cherished culture and artistic expression. From a very young age, he showed an innate inclination toward the world of entertainment, beginning to sing when he was just four years old. With the support of those around him, he channeled this natural curiosity into performance training, participating in advertising projects and venturing into the professional voice-acting sector—a discipline that helped him develop great expressiveness and confidence behind the microphone, even lending his Portuguese voice to iconic characters such as Peter Pan. Seeking to underpin his talent with a solid technical foundation, he decided to begin formal singing and vocal technique lessons in 2025.
His major breakthrough on the national music scene came at age 12, when he participated in the seventh season of the talent show The Voice Kids Portugal. As a member of the team led by renowned singer-songwriter Diogo Piçarra, Salvador impressed both the audience and the judges at every stage of the competition with his powerful vocal timbre, his drive to improve, and his composure during live performances, ultimately emerging as the overall winner. His victory also secured his selection as the official representative for Portuguese public television (RTP) at the 24th Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Ta' Qali, Malta.
Beyond the demands of rehearsals and television studios, Salvador attends secondary school and leads a happy, active life. Those close to him describe him as approachable, disciplined, and possessing great creative sensitivity. In his free time, he enjoys live music, acting, and outdoor activities with friends and family along the Portuguese coast.
At the international event in Malta, Salvador performs "Alma," an emotive melodic pop song written specifically for him by his mentor, Diogo Piçarra. The work is a deeply lyrical piece that explores authenticity, the emotional intensity of youth, and the value of remaining true to one's essence as one grows.
